Frontman|Lead & Background VOX…

Demetrius Davis aka “D-Soul” was born on Oct. 31, 1980 to Willie Ross Davis Jr. and Betty Jo Davis. Music was instilled in him at an early age. He began singing in youth, and adult choirs at the age of 5. Gospel was the foundation for his musical expression. At the age of 9, he toured the U.S. with his father and younger siblings. They became affectionately known as The Davis Family, playing with such acts as Kirk Franklin and Hezekiah Walker. He credits his Grandmother (R.I.P.) for his influences; she introduced him to artists like Johnnie Taylor, Little Milton, Luther Vandross, and Freddie Jackson, just to name a few.

In 2003, he auditioned for American Idol where he made it into Austin’s Top 100 Finalists. This achievement brought him local recognition and opened a door that gave him a glimpse into stardom. His hunger for success in music fuels a work ethic and desire that he hopes will one day lead to a destiny fulfilled. So, he pursued others that wanted the same, and his persistence soon paid off.

D-Soul is currently working on his solo album entitled Love & Soul with the world renowned producer, Tim Bailey and is scheduled for release in 2010.

As Lead-Singer/Front-man for Hot Sauce, D-Soul brings a complete package of vocal dexterity coupled with dance, comedy and stage-presence that keeps the crowd rockin to their favorites of R&B, Soul, Blues, Rock, Pop & Funk…

“He’s truly an eclectic Nu Soul-Hop artist”…
